Sri Chamundeswari Sugars Ltd. (SCSL) to increase its current crushing capacity to 5000 TCD along with the establishment of the 26MW Co-gen power plant by 2nd Quarter of FY 2007-08
The Karnataka High level committee has granted Sri Chamundeswari Sugars Ltd. (SCSL), permission to establish a new sugar complex in Hassan District, Karnataka consisting of a sugar plant of 5000 TCD, cogeneration of 24 MW and a Distillery/Ethanol plant of 75 KLPD. The company is in the process of getting requisite sanctions for the establishement of the same.
Govt lifts export ban on Sugar
The Union Cabinet on Jan 18, 2007, lifted the ban imposed on export of sugar. Earlier in June 2006, while reviewing the price situation in the country, the Cabinet Committee on Prices had taken a decision to ban exports of sugar and pulses and partially lifted the ban in Dec 2006. |
